Day 6: Posada/Posada Amazonas
Fly to Puerto Maldonado for a 2-hour journey up the Tambopata River to Posada Amazonas, a 24-room, world-renowned eco-lodge co-owned by the indigenous Ese’eja community. A full and exciting day reveals the diverse eco-systems of the jungle. Visit a clay lick to see flocks of brilliantly colored macaws, and hike to Tres Chimbadas Lake for a canoe trip in search of giant river otters, turtles and wading birds. You’re invited to a pre-lunch meditation to strengthen mental, spiritual and physical harmony. Then join your guide to find the giant Ceiba tree, endowed with mythical status by many cultures.
